Natalie Giannos is a painter, illustrator, and published essayist based somewhere between Chicago, IL and Ann Arbor, MI.

Natalie paints interpersonal exchanges and experiences of moments past according to how she remembers them: often shrouded in a redactive, colored haze. Her practice is heavily informed by her close ties to nature and her commitment to a wistful, nostalgic, textured kind of grit. Her bodies of process-based work provide space for her to process memories, toy with a dialogue about the roles of artist as maker and canvas as flesh, and attempt to tie down a glimpse of what her memories look like inside her head.

Her work has been shown throughout the Midwest and is held in private and public collections ranging from schools to offices to hospitals. Natalie has also worked with a variety of musicians and community organizations for commissioned projects (including cover art, merchandise, portraits, and more) wherein she has been able to employ her painterly approach in a design context.

When she’s not making, she’s tending to her plants, daydreaming about being outdoors, or trying to figure out how to bake really good bread.
